Working with my Cricut!

So, as a teacher, I was offered a HUGE discount by the manufacturer of that "other" cutting machine and I chose that over the Cricut (which EVERYONE's coupons always specifically except). Now that I have a Cricut, I'm going to bequeath my other machine to my school. I love it!! For one, it's definitely quieter, which means I *might* be able to get away with cutting while hubby is in the next room. And, of course, the Cricut has the advantage of partnering with Close to My Heart to have three amazing, exclusive cartridges which are designed to go with many of our stamp sets. It's SO fun!

Today was the day I set aside to get to know my Cricut and, aside from the brief "Take shelter now" break when the NWS issued a Tornado Warning for my area, that's exactly what I did!

I started out just making some basic cuts from the Cricut Craft Room. Nothing too exciting, but enough for me to familiarize myself with how to load and do all the other basics.

Finally, I got down to business with the Artbooking Cartridge from CTMH and had my daughter email me a picture of her and her best college buddy and I created this:

I'm so excited about the possibilities with this machine!!
